Telling You Everything
There isn't enough lines on a page for me and you Not enough words to describe how I feel You make me feel happy But also pathetic You make me feel loved But also alone You make me laugh and smile But also sigh and cry You feel like a warm hug and home But also like fragile glass We fit in an imperfect way We make it work You are tempered glass A still wet painting hanging over the edge I am the wind blowing through tall grass The calm gloom before a storm Dating me was your most stupidest choice But I'm glad I was at least one I wouldn't change anything for the world Just how we ended I could sit here and rattle on and on about you Tell whoever will listen But I can't tell you that For we are fragile I offer you my careful dance Around the truth you don't know But I don't dream much And if I do their nightmares But with you I only dream the sweetest things I don't sing much And if I do it's to myself and quiet But with you I will sing like a free bird in the morning You are the reason I get out of bed You are the reason I write There will never be enough space to talk about you I just wish I knew how to tell you that
