Tears that Left Me Stranded

A father's tears, a rare sight to see, A moment that shook me to the core, you see. I never thought I'd witness the day, When my dad's strong facade would fade away. He's always been the rock, the guiding light, The one who'd shield me from life's plight. But now, I see him broken and worn, His tears, a testament to the weight he's borne. I watched as he struggled, as he fought to be strong, But the weight of his worries, it didn't belong. The lines on his face, a map of his pain, The tears that fell, a reflection of his strain. I never knew, the depth of his sorrow, The weight of his burdens, the trials he'd borrow. But in that moment, I saw him as a man, A man with fears, with doubts, with a heart that can. His tears, they fell like the autumn rain, A cleansing cry, a release of the pain. I felt a mix of emotions, a swirl of feelings too, Sadness, empathy, and a love that shone through. In that moment, our roles reversed, I saw him vulnerable, and I felt immersed. I wanted to comfort him, to ease his pain, To be the strength he needed, to help him regain. I realized that day, that he's human too, That he feels the weight, just like me and you. That his strength is not in being invincible, But in facing.
