Tangled roots
You planted roots deep inside my mind, A twisted vine, a bond I couldn't unwind. Your love was a mirror, cold and cracked, Reflecting only what you wanted back. I reached for comfort, but found only shame, A never-ending race to win your game. You built walls, I climbed, I fell, A prisoner inside your silent hell. You spoke with sweetness, then turned to scorn, Left me broken, always torn. I gave you pieces, you never cared, As if my soul was something you could bear. But now I see, the roots can break, I’m finding strength in the choices I make. Though your grip was tight, and your love was thin, I’m learning to live outside of your skin
