Taken For Granted
They say that we never appreciate what we have until it's gone. I don't appreciate the fact that my lungs don't collapse every time I suck in air. I don't appreciate how much work my eyes do to keep themselves working. I don't appreciate my body. The vessel that I've fought and lost against, every day of my life. Maybe if I were blind then I'd miss seeing. Maybe if my body stopped making nutrients, and shriveled away to nothing, then I'd finally be satisfied. If we don't appreciate the things we have until they're gone, then maybe I should stop breathing.
