Tainted
I bite my tongue and hold my breath, And chip at my nails hiding my ever lasting pains depth. I bathe in insults and my flesh burns with discontent, And my mirror is my savour where I hide my heart's deepest lament. I hold in my stomach and bite back the horrid copper burn, Because maybe then He could show concern. Covering up my scars with a long grey sweater, The days dark light has never been better. I've been tearing at my bones and acting like it doesn't hurt, While my skin feels like it's covered with all kinds of dirt. Maybe if I change just a little bit, He could show concern and the broken pieces would finally fit. I bite my tongue and hold my breath, And chip at my nails hiding my ever lasting pains depth.
