System of Support
A poem dedicated to my dearest kuya (T) and ate (C) System of Support By: Marivil Boniza I was different, I was alone and lonely because I opted to, yet somehow for the first time I felt I was accepted It was an abrupt decision Clearly, I was challenged by setbacks and fears, but luckily I have them, 'My best support system' By means of the 'support system', it may sound many and big but no, They are only two of them, And they were tenfold of what I prayed for They were solely enough I could live without friends, But I can imagine myself Praying for them to stay by my side Yes, I'm different, yet I'm not unique I'm just a girl drowned in literature, just a human being who could not make friends my age. I wanted to become a free bird, but I flew from the cage all alone, but now a part of me is longing to have friends, and maybe I changed because of them. And I'm beyond grateful for having such the best support system and I pray that someday I can see myself burst with Laughter with a friend
