Sweet & Sour
Like the glistening taste of candy on my pallet Or the sultry sweet scent of a berry in the garden From the glistening pearls that glitter in the sun To the buttery palms that never wither ever warm Such is the beautiful feat of this our bittersweet Like the thunder that reigns the heavens during a storm Or the quiet cold sadness that hails before the morn From the cacophony of pitter patter on cobblestone To the breeze that freezes everything long before dawn. For there can be no sun without rain Such is the burden of our bittersweet pain The love ever yearning The pain never healed The hunger ever wanted yet never to be filled Away in pain yet together in turmoil This is the story of our bittersweet allegory
