Swallow it down
The constant ache in the back of my throat, I'll always swallow it down I hate letting the pain make sound Allowing it to be loud, just for someone to hear it and frown. I'm tired. Exhausted. Will I ever feel awake? Will I ever stop worrying and staying up late? I'm sore. Life has been such a long tour, Yet I find I'm still standing In the entrance, wavering from the sounds of laughter all around I'm headed straight fro the ground No-one will be there to catch me now As I smile for the first time In my life, I step off into the night....finally taking flight. I have never felt so awake.
