surviving adversity
Among whispers, I find myself, surrounded, Believing I'm the mistake, the pointed discrepancy. I won't apologize for not fitting in, I'd rather be authentic, without comparing. Pains aren't erased with alcohol, Suffering isn't forgotten with forgiveness. I reject your meaningless comparisons, Time past can't be relived. I'm a survivor of my own passion, A mosaic in my heart, constantly forming. My hands, dry from begging for love, I accept the past and start anew with courage. Life is an undeciphered poem, Running from problems won't solve them. My worn-out pencil, writing without acting, I left my pride with each person I encountered. A toast to the hatred that taught me to live, Despite the rubble left behind when departing. More art awaits discovery, Giving up is not an option in my existence.
