sunshine and rambows
they told me life was sunshine and gold, all of the stories so neatly told rainbows appear if you just believe, smiles come easy, no reason to grieve they painted it soft, in colors so bright, left out the shadows, left out the nights left out the days when nothing feels right, when getting up feels like losing a fight no one talks about the cracks in the blue, how skies can be clear and still hurt you how rainbows don’t show every time that it rains, and sunshine can’t dry every kind of pain but maybe the truth isn’t pretty or clean, it’s both the in-between and what’s never seen not just the light or the dark you go through— but learning that both can still be you so i don’t chase stories that feel too untrue… no forced sunshine, no fake rainbow views.
