SUNRISE IN THE CITY
early morning we rise again the shiny shiny of sunlight on our brow the shadows of yesternight's dreams and fears and sorrows at our backs throngs of human worry and hassle forms a beeline for the streets maybe to escape the yawning caves we call home, or the screaming silence that is left after the sun sets at dusk to my right I see a suited dilemma undecided on whether to hike a ride or use the remaining coins jingling to pay a shoeshiner to add a sparkle to it's already dull dusty self on my left, a sleepy sentry ambles on his way home, after a starless night of protecting the insecurities of another his long coat fights a losing battle with the morning wind, and like a flag follows the footsteps of the tired soldier maybe resigning to the wind's demands or after realization of its fate; follow the wind or the one with the limbs all but the once new long coat seem to be winning the sun is up...again
