Summer

Summer is coming And we'll soon be out of school The weather will be warm And there'll be no rules We can go on early morning walks And listen to the birds And spend hours in the sun Exchanging libraries of words We can share an ice cream every day And hold sweaty hands We can go on wonderous adventures To far away lands We can go swimming when it's too hot And we can give underwater kisses We'll watch the sunset turn to a starlit sky And spend the minutes making firefly wishes Summer is my favorite Because it's the only season where I'm free But also because I'll get to see you the most I'm excited for the adventures of you and me
