Suffocating soul
The feeling of being wrapped up in a plastic wrap Two thoughts quarelling on the either side The fear of dying, The regret of not addressing. Dreadful mind, Sorrowful Soul Fear of dying? Well, In dreams of breaking free, I see the chains I forged myself in. Self-sabotaged until I forgot my own name Why break your own core, When you could turn to ash beneath a peaceful sky? Regret? of? Regret of not crying out loud? Regret of burying your soul? Regret of not meeting the quiet sooner? It's the regret of not swallowing the pain, Enough to let me digest the truth. Plastic wrap is no chocolate wrap, to expect sweetness hiding inside Rather a wrap of sorrow, Wrap of an aching soul, Waiting for its first breath of air. To slam down the regret of not voicing, I started talking to my pen, The only thing which lends its ear to me, without judgement, without drawing conclusions. The wrap furned out to be transparent I saw the first ray of light, then began to bloom, the hope within me. I no longer waited for the wrap to be removed, Only wished for a tiny hole, so fresh air could slip in. Faith flourished, I may not be free, But I can survive Waiting for another small slit, to draw a full breath of peace....
