Stuck alone
Stuck alone in the world we once shared Every night my thoughts drift back to our days, When it was about us, not just you and me. We danced in the rain, now I pray it never returns, Rain, stars, and the moon were our companions, My heart breaks every time they appear, You're in every passerby, every tree, everywhere I look. The songs you sang, once a sweet melody to my ear, now sound like a curse, haunting me. Where can I find peace? The poems, the words they echo in my mind every night, It feels as though I've taken a journey to hell. The dreams we had, the moments we shared, they are all in the past. It feels like there is nowhere to hide, social media continually reminds me of our past together through shared pictures and posts from friends. I find myself in pain, crying for you every night. Everything around me feels like a painful reminder of what we once had. I feel stuck in a world that took us years to build but only a minute to destroy. Constance K Zhakata
