stonehearted tragedy
In shadows deep where monsters dwell, A Gorgon’s heart began to swell, For in the darkness of her lair, A human soul, so pure and fair. His voice like music, soft and sweet, Awakened love beneath her feet, But in her gaze, the curse would bind, A love she knew she’d never find. Her serpents hissed, her heart did mourn, For every glance, a life was torn, Stone figures stood where love had died, And with each loss, her spirit cried. She watched him from the shadows’ veil, Her love a secret, doomed to fail, For if he saw her anguished face, He’d join the statues in her place. So from afar, she’d guard his days, With tender thoughts, in hidden ways, Yet knew that in this tragic dance, She’d never hold him, not a chance. Her love, a burden, cold as stone, A Gorgon’s heart forever lone, In silence, she would let him go, A love untold, he’d never know. For in her eyes, the curse did dwell, A tale of love she could not tell, Bound by fate, forever cursed, A Gorgon’s love, a heart immersed. And so she wept, in darkened night, Her love a prisoner to the light, For in his life, she’d never stand, A Gorgon’s love, a touchless hand.
