Still thinking of a title
The shadows creep, a silent, chilling tide, They steal the light where laughter used to hide. A heavy cloak, it wraps around my soul, Leaving me lost, beyond my own control. The vibrant hues of life begin to fade, A monochrome where joy has been betrayed. Each simple task, a mountain I must climb, While whispers tell me, "What's the use of time?" The energy, a well run dry and deep, Where motivation slumbers in its sleep. I yearn to rise, to break these binding chains, But in the stillness, only darkness reigns. The mirror shows a stranger, gaunt and worn, A hollow echo of the day I'm born. The smiles feel forced, a fragile, painted lie, While silent screams within my spirit cry. But deep inside, a flicker still remains, A tiny ember fighting through the pains. A stubborn hope, a whisper in the gloom, That dawn will break and banish this cold tomb. The battle's fierce, a constant ebb and flow, Some days I rise, and others sink below. Yet every breath, a testament to fight, To claw my way back towards the warming light. For even in the depths of darkest night, A fragile seed of resilience takes its flight. And though the shadows linger, long and vast, I will not yield, this storm will surely pass.
