Still Interested but...
I’m still interested... but I don’t love you anymore. Strange, isn’t it? How I can want to know how your day went, but not miss the way you held me. How I can care without craving. I still check your posts. I still notice the little things normal days. But it doesn’t twist something in my chest anymore. It just is. I still wonder how you’re doing. But I don’t want to be the one doing it with you. Not anymore. See, I’m past the part where love lived. That fire burned out quietly, while we were busy pretending it was still warm. I’m still curious about you. Still drawn to the sound of your voice like a song I don’t play anymore but haven’t deleted either. I don’t hate you. I’m not angry. I just don’t belong there now. With you. In that version of us where I kept trying to feel what I once did and you kept trying not to notice that I couldn’t. So yes I’m still interested. But I don’t love you anymore. And that, in its own quiet way, is the most peaceful kind of goodbye I’ve ever known.
