Still
I loved him, but we parted ways without saying goodbye — no tears, no words, just silence that slowly grew between us. As the years passed, I still find myself wondering — was it love as a romantic partner, or love as a friend that I couldn’t hold on to? Now, I’m married, but sometimes, a quiet guilt follows me, like a shadow from a story I never finished. I think about him. I wonder if he remembers me as someone he once loved, or just someone who disappeared. I feel like I was the one who ended things. I never asked if he forgave me, but I hope he did. And even though I don’t belong in his life anymore, I still wish him happiness, and peace, even if it means he forgets me completely.
