STAMPS FROM OUR THUMBS
Oh, how politics smoothly rides in corruption. A pollution whose odor is fast gaining normalcy. The nostrils of integrity are soon losing their function. This filthy air we breathe in has jabbed our decency. Politics warms up towards our doorsteps. Like always, she prides herself on her steady wins. She thinks she's better at every concept. "I'll win them over with a few cups of beans". She mocks election, whose guts shrink in his shell. His competence can't install straight people on the seat. Greed takes away the truth he should sing and tell. For long, the masses have suffered his fierce heat. Politics fondle our national cake in her purse. How the citizenry walks about with dead hopes. Evident that the masses wallow in ardent curse. The economy only seems to suggest tough ways to cope Our lives go in the direction of our voices. Although our votes are seen as numb and dumb, Let the fate of our future pride in our choices. As the stamp for better change spill from our thumbs. ©John Ettah | February 2022
