Sovan's Memory Lane
In the quiet hum of yesterday, I find my heart begins to sway— To days when laughter filled the air, And every moment was without a care. Sovan, they called me, a name so sweet, Running barefoot on sun-kissed streets. The world was vast, a place to roam, Each corner felt like coming home. We’d chase the wind, we’d race the sun, As if the day had just begun. With dreams as wild as open skies, We believed that nothing could pass us by. The trees would whisper, the rivers sing, Of summers lost in the fluttering spring. We’d gather hopes in secret places, Paint our faces with playful traces. And when the night would softly fall, We’d lay on the grass, and hear it call— A symphony of crickets' hum, As stars above would softly drum. Now those days are woven tight, In memories that fill the night. But in my soul, they softly stay, Like echoes that never fade away. *For childhood, though it slips away, Lives on in the heart, in endless play. And in its warmth, we always find, A piece of the joy we left behind
