Soul
Soul What is a soul? Can one bargain with it, as some have supposed? The soul is the seat of emotion; your will abides there— the quiet force that animates the flesh, bound to the body until the moment of death. But what kind of soul do I possess? What am I— this consciousness behind my eyes, confined for now to this small domain of earth and breath? I hope for a wise soul— for wisdom begins in reverence for the Lord. I hope for a kind soul, genuine and generous. I hope for a loving soul, patient and understanding. Yet above all, now and forever, my soul belongs to the Father.
