"sorry for your loss"

what? are you sure? why would you tell me like that? why would you leave without saying anything besides the one sentence of "sorry for your loss"? why did you think that it wouldn't hurt me more than i already was? didn't you think it through that i was nine and had just walked in on my father figure dead? didn't you know that at the age of nine i was stronger than i should've been? did it not occur to you that walking off, only saying that sentence, would be a moment i would never forget?
