Something in the Fall Pt. 2
We talk like we always have, But now there’s this spark beneath the surface, A new warmth in the familiar rhythm of our conversations. Your words feel different now, Like they mean more, Like they’ve always meant more. And I find myself smiling at my phone, Giggling at things that shouldn’t make me blush, But they do. You’ve always known how to make me laugh, But now it’s like each message wraps me up in something deeper, Something I can’t quite put into words, Even though we talk every day. Maybe it’s the season, The way the world feels softer, The way the sky blushes at dusk, But whatever it is, I’m falling into it, Into you. We’ve known each other for so long, But now, with every text, every shared moment, I’m realizing just how much I’ve missed, And how much I’m ready to feel. The leaves are falling, And so am I.
