Soft Rules of Silence&Distance
Don’t run away from me, Don't flinch or turn from my face. Don’t think so lowly of me— I am capable, but at my own pace. I may be far away, And we might drift for days, But I’ll still remember your name— Just tell me, and I’ll fall into your gaze. Yet distance has its quiet rule, It keeps the heart soft, the feelings cool. Still, it keeps my feelings on mute— Maybe that’s why silence feels so absolute. Though I’ve never spoken to you, One thing I know is true: You’re really quite cute— And I’d love to know you too. Will there ever come a day When I’ll get to see your face, For more than just a fraction Of a second— I think you’d leave me dazed. Time is winding down on us, So if I ever speak to you, Please take it as a hint, And maybe drop me one too. And when I leave this place, While you're still somewhere in it, If I’m far away... Remember— I think of you every day. . . .
