So Far
One day I woke, but when I spoke, All that came was air. Someone asked me how I was and when I tried to speak, my words weren't my own. "I'm well" I said but I was so far from it. When I was walking home, I saw my reflection looking back in a puddle. I saw myself so far from home. So far, but just a block. And so, I went to the woods. Wearing a hood to hide the fake me. So none could see. When I got there, I could speak. But not with words. From small yips, to mighty growls. I could finally see the real me. From the snout, to the paws, to even the teeth. The one true me was finally near. I just waited for it to be here.
