Snowfall (P2 of 2)
(Continued from P1) Trees, hunchbacked in their icy armor sitting all in a row, looking like sentinels awaiting a call-to-arms and command. But, just before they would spring into action; before the order to go; the bright sun rises over the mountain, daylight returns to the land. The ice giants are blinded by the bright sun reflected from the snow. They can move neither backwards nor forwards; they are numb. All of the trees are locked in this stasis and can no longer go. And the sun gets hotter each hour until this world is undone. The snow and ice melt and the rivers run faster in the bright sun. But we visitors have been there and gone, many hours ago; We passed through the forest at the first faint sightings of dawn; leaving the bracken, trees, and sad, somber cows in the snow. -The End-
