snooze button
I wake up gripping the sheets hungering for the brush of skin on skin and frantic breath but you - somehow - are a slow crawl, your hands caressing the seconds like gold, like I'm the map you journey over only wanting to take your time. what's it like? to navigate? to see adventure in dawn-light even as the dust settles my skin? how do you see the destination and decide peace? every step startling and stiff but so so full of life. your laughter rasps, and your teeth sparkle. I pull you closer. you gasp, arching into the bend and sway of my hands. somewhere behind us, the ac rumbles to life. if I am the map, and you are the journey. then I unfold. I ignore the alarm and unravel into the depths of you. what must I do to commit to life in half-awake delirium?
