Slippers
I found him broken, at his worst, A soul that once loved, but couldn't anymore, it hurts. He'd lost his way, his heart was on the floor, But I saw something in him, that I couldn't ignore. I took his hand, and helped him up with care, Patched up his wounds, like a nurse, with love to share. I kept him warm, during his coldest days and nights, And held him close, when his heart felt like it wasn't right. He told me to stop, that he couldn't love anymore, That his heart was dead, and he couldn't open that door. But I had hope, and I saw something in his eyes, A spark that remained, a love that could rise. So I looked at him, with a heart full of cheer, And asked him to give love another chance, to hold me near. To open up his heart, and let love shine through, And I asked him, with a smile, to be my Valentine, anew. Will you be my Valentine, and take a chance on love? Will you open up your heart, and send our love above? I'll be here by your side, through every up and down, Forever and always, my love, my Valentine, my heart's crown.
