“Sleepless Night”
.... I close my eyes, but sleep won’t come, The world is still, my thoughts just hum. The stars are out, the moon is high, But I just stare and wonder why. The clock ticks loud, the room feels wide, No peace or dreams to run and hide. I count some sheep, I toss and turn, My mind is hot, my eyes still burn. I try to breathe and think of rain, But all I feel is quiet pain. The night is long, it feels so slow, While all the world was supposed to glow. But morning comes, as soft as light, And brings an end to endless night. I’ll try again, and maybe soon, I’ll sleep beneath the moon.
