Sleep.
Staring at the end of the bed Watching, reaching out, waiting All for the right moment The shadow always changes, but always feels the same way Paralysing fear, pressured into panic Its stature far from being organic Eyes wide and heavy breathing, but it doesn't attack, it doesn't reach me It watches and watches, standing still Its eyes on me, sounds coming in a shrill Drowning in my bed, chocked gasps Terror in the night as it seems neverending The shadow growing, towering over me as I begin to wonder if I will ever be free But it doesn't stop Watching, reaching out, waiting All for the right moment
