Slaughterhouse Escape
A mother's gaze, a distant cry Echoes through the slaughterhouse sky Her baby's voice, a haunting sound As machines draw near, the end's profound Hear me, human, I'm alive too A life worth living, a soul anew In this place of death, I yearn to be free A voice unheard, a life unseen by thee But then they break, the chains of fear A desperate dash, a final tear Through gates ajar, the freedom's won The mother's joy, a triumphant shout is done With strength and will, they make their stand Their hearts still racing, their spirits grand The open fields, a welcoming sight A new life dawns, in the morning light Their freedom's won, their lives anew A mother's love, forever true And as they run, with hearts so light They leave the darkness, for a brighter sight.
