six feet down
In the quiet earth, where shadows blend, I rest beneath the oaks, my ancient friends, With whispers of the wind, my secrets sigh, The world above is distant, a fading sky. Roots entwined in slumber, the night unfolds, Stories of the living, the laughter and the bold, Time drifts like a river, flowing soft and slow, While I lie here tranquil, where no storms can go. Six feet under, yet the stars still gleam, Illuminating dreams from a life once deemed, What’s buried runs deeper than the soil's embrace, In memories and echoes, I find my place. The seasons dance above in a vibrant waltz, Sunlight fades and rises, with no hint of faults, I am part of the cycle, the circle of the earth, In death, as in life, I hold my worth. For every ending whispers of a brand new start, And though I am beneath, I’m never apart, In roots and in blossoms, in the songs that you sing, I linger in the essence of all living things. So speak my name in sunlight, in laughter, in cheer, For I am always with you, in what you hold dear, Though I’m six feet under, my spirit takes flight, In every flicker of joy, in the softest of light.
