Sisyphus pt. 1 - Thanatos

How could I be so stupid so as to fall for such a trick? For the gods' sake, it wasn't even slick! It was set by the stubborn, selfish king. The fact I was so gullible is sickening. How does he so easily evade forces such as the gods? Despite the odds! It's as if he's rigged luck to be on his side. Could he have bribed Tyche to let his antics slide? Surely, eventually, we'll end his ridiculous, death stopping reign. All I have to do is get him wrapped in these chains. The same chains he pretended to admire. So I demonstrated them, per his desire. But that fraudulence I mistook for curiosity Humiliated me and I was trapped by that mortal monstrosity! Even worse, as I cried and begged to be let go, He mocked me all the way to his home! Locked in his closet, secluded from the outside world, I waited and waited as deathless wars unfurled. I wonder if Ares hadn't been so mad and bloodthirsty, Would he have ended the captivity with which Sisyphus has cursed me? Or would it be as if the world were plunged into the River Lethe, Making everyone forget about the imprisoned god of death?
