Sir (I)
Falling asleep at midnight With his arms wrapped around me, Fra Lippo Lippi, blending with the night wind's hymn, is just a distant memory. Not that it matters now, But I was 19 then. He was 32. I was fresh and spotless, And he was used, Second-hand, Owned. I fell in love with him Just like how little girls idolized their teachers. And he fell in love with me Like he was exhausted of life duties And I was the only, sweet escape. Everything was for the first time And all the second and third times, We've celebrated them together. He gave me CDs, Collection of songs he carefully selected And dedicated to me On a Valentine's Day. I would wait for him outside his class, And we'd leave the building after dusk. He would hold my hand in the dark As we descend the stairs, And I'd be scared not by the darkness But by his painful grip. He talked about everything, Mumbled all the sweet phrases Except for the "I love You's" Still, we celebrated our romance Like lovers on a vacation All throughout the year. ©reddragonfly⚘
