Silent Walls
Here’s a long poem built on that thought, in at least 8 stanzas: Silent Walls by Vijay Sharma Erry The more you wait for a word to appear, The louder grows the hollow of fear. An echo dances in empty space, But silence wears a stubborn face. You write long lines, but answers don’t flow, Your heart beats fast, but time moves slow. The screen stays dim, no message arrives, Yet hope within stubbornly survives. You speak in dreams, you plead in prayer, But silence lingers like stagnant air. Every pause is a sharpened knife, Carving wounds into waiting life. Perhaps their heart has built a wall, Too high to climb, too deaf to call. Or maybe they love this quiet game, Where silence burns but leaves no name. The eyes keep searching, the soul stays still, The silence bends your iron will. You’d trade the world for a single line, But none appears on the page of time. You wonder if absence speaks more true, Than words forgotten or overdue. Is silence cruel, or just a shield, Hiding the truths they can’t reveal? Yet still you wait, though the night is long, Hoping silence will turn into song. For every heart that longs replies, Still dreams of light in the darkest skies.
