SILENT SORROW
I've been misunderstood by those I once soaked in love. Like a living water, my heart is poured into hands that never cared to hold it. I stood trial before judges who know the truth, yet chose the comfort of lies. Their tongues became blades, carving wounds in a bleeding soul. I watched familiar faces wear betrayal like perfume; Even the ones who greeted me with a smile as if innocence proudly sat in their eyes. I've been maligned without mercy by hearts too proud to admit their mistakes. Traded my last penny on smiles, then slept with hunger chomping my bones. In the storm of these trials, in quiet nights, the letters on my walls bolster me like tired prayers. In the verses in my Bible, I find solace for my soul. Yet in these pains, I sleep without bitterness; for my healing needs no enemy, only time. Praying that even those who pierced me find progress. ©Joseph_Odi_King
