"Silent battles"
Don’t ask how I’m doing, You know I’ll lie to you. I’m bound to please my people, It’s just what I do. Dry your tears, I’ve always got you. It’s not as bad as it seems, I can’t imagine losing you. Oh, damn, it’s hitting me hard, Voices in my head, tearing me apart. I don’t know what to do, Can’t find where to drown them, Losing myself, piece by piece, it’s overwhelming. Books bring me comfort, Lost in every page, believe me, it’s not by choice. But it’s my only way to silence them all, Hours pass, I’m stuck here, I want to ask for help, but my voice has disappeared. Depression looms, creeping near, So turn it off, pretend again. Save the breakdown, Hide the tears, ignore the pain. Wait till you’re alone, let no one see you at your worst, Because the more you open up, the more it hurts. I’m dying, but fighting to survive. Holding back the tears, Striving to provide, Lying to myself, claiming everything’s fine. Why self-care when there’s no self-love? How do I stay selfless as I deepen the cuts? I say I love books, but it’s a lie, Just trying to kill the pain that won’t die. Oh, I want to silence them, but they won’t stop. Too many thoughts—someone, please, tell me how to make them drop.
