silenced.
It happened again. Another unwelcome caress to her side. Her skin crawled in loathing. Her throat itched to scream, to retaliate, to cry out for righteousness— but her shrieks fell on deaf ears. Those sworn to protect her, muted her cries. They demanded her silence, fearful of whispered judgements, afraid his wrong would be named hers. She wanted war. She desired fire. But her once vibrant soul was burned in a funeral pyre. The world still spun the same, but her soul still loathed his name. Sometime hence, the nightmare echoed in her mind, but its grip wasn't as tight this time. Almost home to herself, with another stray touch, her healing heart split again. As before, it happened again. But this time, the fire stirred quietly.
