Silence isn't always the reply
Sometimes silence isn't always the reply, When their bounds are crossed and patience dies, Yet blame is placed upon my weary soul, My voice concealed, as they take their toll. Why must it be my fault in this cruel game? Should I not have the right to speak with flames? To rise against the wrongs that plague my peace, To let my words be heard and troubles cease. But silence persists, my tongue held at bay, As their trespasses grow with each passing day. Oh, how I yearn to break this endless chain, To break free from this noise, to ease the strain. Yet silent I remain, my patience stripped bare, Beneath the weight of burdens I cannot bear. But oh, my spirit yearns to set free, To find solace in words, to reclaim me. For silence may hide the battles I've fought, But sometimes, it's my voice that life has taught. In these last lines, I'll make my thoughts known, Reclaiming my power, my strength, my own. No longer shall I bear this heavy load, In my voice, my truth, my strength bestowed. For in reclaiming the power of my voice, I'll find liberation, and I'll rejoice.
