Silence
I say 'I hate the quiet'. But silence is deafening. It's never truly lonely when I have the sounds of the earth invading my eardrums. The sound of rain. The sound of dogs barking. The sound of ambulances, firetrucks. The sound of air conditioners. The sound of my parents yelling at each other. The sound of my own breathing. There's never truly silence. And maybe that's why I feel the need to drown out the 'quiet' that I don't want to hear.
