Side by Side
You are now a part of me, two joined in flesh as one- And that in which God has joined, Can never be undone. It's more than rings and words and things, It's an act of God's own hand, A blessing and a part, of his sacred plan. As God watched the man he made, he saw he should have a mate. And while he fell into a deep sleep, From his rib, a woman was made. A woman to serve along beside him, to keep under his arm and at his side. A man was meant to protect his mate, and shield her from harm, Never belittling her or causing her any harm. There is no sweeter love than that, from master or from man- A woman is a precious gift, and blessed is her husband. The gift of love and marriage, from the palm of God's own hand.
