Shy Teardrops
Oh, this heart again— my eyes droop in a distant sadness, a hesitant tear only seeking a permanent vacation. I welcome you to place umbrellas away from the chronic rain. My throat constricts the remaining freedom that I squeeze with a steadfast dedication. I know the pain all too well, and maybe, just maybe, I can have a moment of rest— where my heart skips a beat to a new emerging memory. Where blankets are woven into my soul and consoled like a newborn in his tender worth, bathed with eyes and constant hugs— yet time is soiled in my early desperation. And without a doubt, the bitter fruit of history shatters my optimism. The thought may save me for tonight, but in the long distance we may find each other again— sad-eyed, heavy, in the cold breeze rain.
