These people have no idea what's going on. You're kids get ready already knowing the day is long You say goodbye assuming a normal day You're kid is hoping they'll make it home okay We pretend we don't hear their cries. Until our news is full of weeping goodbyes The stories are told and memories haunted To feel safe at school is all we ever wanted History repeats itself endlessly in time. But it's the mystery of why people commit such a crime "Bullies" and other pathetic little reasons Make us wonder if we'll make it through the season. We can't keep hiding or running from the fray It's time we look out and find another way To save our children from running the halls To save our children from screaming for their mom School is supposed to make us feel safe But nothing is safe in a place not willing to face it.
