Shepards & Serpents
There will never be any clear skies, no space for between as we are safe, it seems. We are doomed till the red dirt rises from the moss, the embers of hell spring up as dashing frogs cross. The leper and the messiah, one walks limped, and the other is nervous for odds. The color wheel is black by the disgraced thunder God. But then I walk behind Jesus, I exchanged my nickels for fish and cheese, I kiss his hand, and my memory is wiped clean. No sense of purpose or even capable of knowing my name. June 17 is the day, in a month, all will be preordained. Muslim and the Jew, the rock slides down the wall. We wail as the dust crumbles soft, the devil is a woman, her vagina is fair trade. Fuck her for royalty, Jesus and Satan are all the same.
