She Was Once Icarus
I have witnessed my heart, ruthlessly being detached from my chest, but I did not care; for I have loved you, like Icarus had loved the sun it melted away his wings. His architectural father; the one who loved Icarus, unselfishly watched the demise of his son, like my best-friends witnessed my sanity morph, into silent spiraling. But I didn't care. I was fortunate enough to fly, too close to the sun; and my wings collapsing, upon gracing the blazing heat. I accounted for an unforgiving fall; it was gruesome. It was irreparably agonizing. But I have no regrets. To me, love was a warm feeling. To me, loving you was second nature. In the passage of time, for even a brief moment, the sun knew me too. But its time to go. To let go of the fragment of a future; a figment of my imagination, never cross paths with you; to check if the wound still bleeds, Because, it mostly likely does. And never again But one day, I am gonna grow wings. Yet I will not punish myself by flying too close to the sun; as it will melt away my wings; deplete me of life, throw me into the unknown.
