Shattered Mind of the lost
I was shattered long before they came, Before their smiles, before their lies, Taught that feeling is a sin, A weakness wrapped in soft disguise. They forced emotion, pushed it deep, Like poison coursing through my veins, But I am broken, far beyond Their fragile worlds of joy and pain. I learned to live in hollow spaces, Where love is nothing, just a ghost, Where trust is ash beneath my feet, And all I touch is burned, or lost. They try to mend what can’t be healed, With empty words, with hollow care, But I am jagged, sharp as glass, A ruin they could never bear. Betrayal left me cold and cracked, My mind, a maze of shattered dreams, Insanity the only friend That understands these silent screams. They want me to feel, to laugh, to cry, To wear my heart upon my sleeve, But I was taught that tears are chains, And love’s a weapon made to bleed. I won’t be weak, won’t bend or break, Won’t bow beneath the weight of care, For all I’ve known is steel and stone, And feelings bring me no repair. So let them judge this fractured soul, Let them call me mad, deranged, For I would rather walk alone, Than feel the warmth that leaves me caged.
