Shattered Innocence

A world once bathed in joy and light, Now shrouded in a bitter night. Parental strife, a constant fear, A childhood lost, a bitter tear. Divorce's sting, a painful wound, A fragile heart, adrift and drowned. Years passed, hope began to mend, A reunion, a chance to transcend. Yet shadows lingered, doubts arose, A fragile peace, a fragile pose. Conflict returned, a bitter strife, A shattered dream, a weary life. A child's heart, a fragile thing, Questions linger, doubts still cling. Will they stay, or will they part? A fear that pierces, breaks my heart. I yearn for peace, a quiet night, A childhood stolen, lost from sight. Will I ever know a carefree day, Or will this fear forever stay?
