Shattered Illusions
With every passing day, the truth takes hold, My foolish heart, a story to be told. I see the errors, the choices I made, The love I cherished, sadly decayed. I built a world of fantasy and grace, Ignoring the warnings, at my own pace. Now the illusion's shattered, the fragments remain, A painful reminder, of joy and of pain. Though regret weighs heavy, I must accept, The lessons learned, the debts I've kept. And though the love remains, a bittersweet ache, I'll rise above it, for goodness sake.
