Shattered Illusions
In shadows cast by dreams once bright, I gave my heart, I gave my light. You wore a mask, a charming guise, But all I saw were empty lies. With whispered words, you stole my soul, A fragile love, you took your toll. I built you up, a tower high, While you watched gleefully, passing by. Each tear I shed, a silent song, In the quiet, I knew it was wrong. You took my trust, a sacred gift, And left my heart in an endless rift. The echoes of our laughter fade, A bittersweet love, a lonely trade. I thought you’d cherish what I gave, But instead, you left me to misbehave. Now I stand in this broken place, A heart betrayed, a hollow space. No longer bound by chains of pain, I’ll rise again, my strength regained. Though love was lost, I’ll learn to heal, From ashes cold, my heart will steal— The warmth of hope, a brighter dawn, And find my way, my love reborn.
