Sharp love.
you were a needle first, a prickling sensation just in the edge of my awareness, an itch, like feeling eyes on me in a desolated room. then, you were a paper cut. a moment of shock; got a reaction from me, but promptly I forgot. a shallow realization of something yet unknown. after came the dagger, was like being confronted with sudden knowledge of forgotten lore. like being electrocuted, or stabbed to the bone. Like being carved up on the dinner table, all the while yet I denied, "tis but a flesh wound, nothing more". now I know, you are an axe, embedded deep into my flesh and bones. present, painful and raw. both excruciating and impossible to extricate and keep me whole.
